Commitment with responsibility. Sustainability is no longer just a trend.

Environmental Check Sustainability

Energy consumption in the hospitality industry is a key factor, leading to high costs and significant CO₂ emissions. Likewise, water consumption and waste generation have both financial and environmental impacts. Environmental indicators help track the development of these consumption values over the years. The DEHOGA Environmental Check provides a valuable benchmark, allowing businesses to compare their environmental performance with others. We actively use this approach to continuously optimize their sustainability efforts.

Good to know Saving Engery

1.1 Electricity

We rely on green electricity to reduce our CO₂ emissions and actively contribute to environmental protection. We recognize that green electricity comes with higher costs, but we are committed to making this investment to achieve our sustainability goals and protect the environment.

1.2 Lighting

LEDs are the most efficient lighting option and are already considered the standard solution. They come in various designs, including dimmable versions, and can replace almost any conventional light bulb.

Facts about LED technology

Durable & eco-friendly – Shock-resistant, mercury-free, and with a lifespan of over 15,000 hours, reducing maintenance costs.

What we do: LED lighting is already standard throughout our hotel

What you can do: Turn off lights – Make sure all lights are switched off when leaving a room.

1.3 Cooling

Efficient cooling & freezing – We use the latest environmentally friendly refrigeration and freezing equipment to actively reduce energy consumption and conserve natural resources.

1.4 Cooking & Baking

What we do: We prioritize energy-efficient cooking practices. Our kitchen staff is trained in sustainable working methods to continuously minimize energy consumption and ensure eco-friendly operations.

Good to know Saving Water

1. Showering and Bathing

What we do: We have equipped our showers with water-saving showerheads that provide our guests with an equally pleasant shower experience as conventional models.

What you can do: Enjoy shorter showers to save both water and energy.

2. Water Management

What we do: We have installed water-saving fixtures in our rooms and bathrooms and regularly monitor our water consumption to ensure efficient use of this valuable resource.

What you can do: Report any leaks or dripping faucets so they can be fixed promptly. A single drop every three seconds adds up to approximately 3,000 liters of wasted water per year.

Good to know Avoiding Waste

Every year, Germany produces a massive amount of waste, amounting to approximately 450 kg per person per year. Of the 37.6 million tons of waste, 16.3 million tons are disposed of, while 21.3 million tons are recycled. Separately collected waste—such as recyclable materials like paper, glass, plastics, or organic waste—can be almost entirely reused.

1. Waste Separation

What you can do: Please take advantage of this option and help us by sorting your waste correctly.

2. Waste Prevention

What we do: We consciously reduce packaging wherever possible, such as at breakfast.

3. Recycling & Composting

What we do: Organic waste from our restaurant is sent for composting.

Good to know Sustainable Procurement

Sustainable Procurement has a direct positive impact on the environment.

1. Sustainable Cleaning Products

What we do: We use sustainable cleaning products (e.g., from Ecolab) and offer our guests the option to forgo daily room cleaning to save water, energy, and cleaning agents.

As a thank you for your support, you will receive – depending on the hotel – either a voucher for the wine shop or a drink voucher.

What you can do: If you wish, please take advantage of this offer.

2. Local Food

What we do: We prioritize sourcing food locally.

By sourcing food from the region, we significantly reduce transport distances. This not only lowers CO2 emissions due to shorter transportation routes, but also eliminates the need for additional cooling and storage, further reducing CO2 emissions. A list of our partners can be found below.

Raising Awareness Employee Training

Sustainability thrives on the knowledge and commitment of everyone.

What we do: We regularly train our employees in eco-friendly practices and raise their awareness of sustainable hotel operations. Additionally, we inform our hotel guests both before their trip and through on-site signage to inspire them to engage in resource-conscious behavior. Together, we contribute to reducing our ecological footprint.

What you can do: Your opinion matters! Sustainability is an ongoing process, and we are constantly looking to improve. We welcome your feedback and suggestions on how we can further optimize our eco-friendly hotel operations. Please feel free to share your ideas, whether it’s about energy savings, waste reduction, or sustainable mobility. Together, we can make a valuable contribution to environmental protection.

Thank you for your support.
