Families are warmly welcome at the EXCELSIOR. Our hotel offers the best conditions for a relaxed stay with children – right in the heart of Munich.

The best choice is our comfortable family rooms. In addition, baby cribs (for children up to 3 years) and extra beds (for children aged 4 and over as well as adults) are in selected room categories available upon request.

In the booking process, please indicate the number of children and their ages. Upon request, you can book a free baby cot for children up to 3 years old. For children aged 4 and above, we provide an extra bed. The price for the extra bed is €80 per room and night and will be included directly in the booking process.

Breakfast for the little ones
Children up to 3 years enjoy breakfast free of charge. For children aged 4 to 12, we charge €12 per day; from 13 years onwards, the regular breakfast rate from €29/€25 for advance booking applies. High chairs at breakfast and in the restaurant ensure that even the youngest guests are well taken care of.

Children’s and Youth Museum: Just about a ten-minute walk from Stachus, this museum offers interactive exhibitions that invite children to explore and discover. Here, learning becomes an adventure.

Glockenspiel at Marienplatz: A short walk takes you to Marienplatz, where the famous Glockenspiel in the town hall tower performs several times a day. The life-size figures reenacting scenes from the 16th century are fascinating for kids.

Englischer Garten: This huge city park offers numerous playgrounds, wide lawns for running around, and the famous Eisbach wave, where you can watch surfers. Popular spots include the playground at the Chinese Tower with a carousel and the beer garden for parents.

Hellabrunn Zoo: One of the most beautiful zoos in Germany, designed as a geo-zoo, where animals live in spacious, naturalistic enclosures.

Olympia Park: There are many recreational activities here, such as boating on the lake, an ice rink in winter, and various playgrounds.

BMW Welt and Museum: For families interested in technology, BMW Welt and the museum offer exciting insights into the history and future of mobility. There are also special workshops for children and teenagers.

Indoor Mini Golf: Near the Isartor, there is an indoor mini golf facility. Another option is 3D neon golf at the Theresienwiese.

MAXX Arena: An indoor sports park with trampolines and other attractions.

Jochen Schweizer Arena: Offers action experiences such as indoor surfing and body flying.

For a simple way to explore the city with children, a ride on the tram (lines 16 and 19) or a hop-on/hop-off bus tour can also be a fun and easy option.
