    Due to the current decision of the federal and state governments to combat the SARS-Cov2 pandemic, the Excelsior by Geisel and the Vinothek are expected to remain closed until December 1st, 2020.

    The health of guests and employees has always been a top priority at the family business Geisel Privathotels. In the times of the pandemic, we pay even more attention to a safe and hygienic environment. We are aware of the enormous responsibility towards our guests, employees, and partners and put our full attention on it every day.

Hygiene standards and precautions

Together with our partners, neighbors and service providers we have taken all necessary measures to prevent the virus from spreading. Our protection concept was created under consideration of employees and guests and taking into account the applicable legal situation and the occupational medical protection and precautionary regulations.

All cleaning procedures in our hotels and restaurants have been tightened and all employees have been trained in the strict hygiene guidelines. The type of cleaning and disinfection of our hotels, the cleaning intervals, and means were checked again and optimized according to the situation.

2. Breakfast at the hotel

Of course, we don’t want our guests to have to start the day hungry. We have therefore adapted our breakfast to current needs and are looking forward to offering a small breakfast buffet again from 11.09.2020.
For € 17 per person you can enjoy breakfast specialties such as fresh croissants, cold cuts, crispy rolls and much more.

3. How are the general areas in the hotel and restaurant cleaned?

Hygiene measures in the hotel and restaurant

Sufficient washing facilities, liquid soap, disposable towels and, if necessary, hand disinfectants are provided to guests and employees.

All surfaces, e.g. door handles, elevator buttons, receptions, bar stools are disinfected several times a day.

All floors and steps are vacuumed daily and wiped with disinfectant cleaner.

Guest toilets are cleaned regularly, liquid soap, disposable towels and hand disinfectants are available.

The use of objects that are used by several guests is reduced to a minimum throughout the company or designed so that cleaning or replacement takes place after each use.

The employees always wear freshly cleaned clothes.

Cooking uniforms are washed industrially.

When rinsing, attention is paid to the specified water temperature, at least 60 ° Celsius.

The kitchens are cleaned according to a strict hygiene plan, which was specially created by hygiene experts.

Each company has a special virus-containing ventilation concept:

  • Public areas are constantly ventilated, every 5-10 minutes.
  • Ventilation systems are cleaned properly, the filters are cleaned and replaced regularly.
  • The windows in the hallways are always tilted.

If possible, the direction of movement when entering and leaving rooms is specified. Observed distances in the access and, if applicable, in the waiting areas are marked accordingly.

4. How is my room cleaned?

We have intensified our cleaning concept again for increased security. We have designed a hygiene seal for Geisel Privathotels, which seals every room door until you arrive. The seal offers you absolute security that your room has been cleaned to the highest hygiene standards. Our executive housekeeper checks every arrival room and disinfects everything again before applying the hygiene seal to the door. No one will enter the room before the guest arrives.

In addition to our normal cleaning, the following hygiene standards are carried out for every cleaning:

Every housekeeping employee wears a face mask that is changed regularly.

Every housekeeping employee wears fresh gloves per room.

The employees always wear freshly cleaned clothes.

The cleaning utensils are changed after each room.

Bed linen and towels are specially disinfected washed.

All surfaces such as Remote controls, light switches, doorknobs, hair dryers, hangers are disinfected.

Water and toothbrush glasses are cleaned at the specified temperature in the dishwasher.

The room is cleaned with the window open to create ideal air circulation.

5. What should I pay attention to when visiting a restaurant?

Special measures and recommendations for behavior in the restaurant:

Guests are asked to wear a face mask. The mouth protection cover can be removed at the table.

Sitting together in the restaurant without observing the minimum distance of 1.5 m is only permitted to persons for whom the general contact restriction does not apply in relation to each other (members of your own family or of your own household, members of a second household or groups of up to ten people).

Group reservations are permitted for groups of up to 10 people.

In order to determine contact persons in the event of a subsequently identified COVID-19 case among guests or staff, a guest list must be kept with details of names, telephone numbers, and the period of stay. These are treated in accordance with data protection.

The distances between the tables ensure that guests can keep the necessary distances of 1.5 m from other people when taking a seat and leaving.

If there are symptoms of acute respiratory illness of any severity or fever, hosting is not possible.

Commodities (menu, cruet, trays, etc.) are limited to the most necessary ones. The rest is designed in such a way that cleaning/replacement takes place after each use.

Tables are disinfected after every guest.

6. How should I behave in the hotel?

Recommended behavior for your stay with us in the hotel

The top priority is to comply with the 1.5 m distance rule between people in all rooms, in corridors, stairs and outdoors.

Guests are asked to wear a mouth guard. The mouth protection cover can be removed from the table and in the room.

We recommend cleaning your hands regularly. We have provided disinfection and hand washing facilities with soap and running water.

Sitting together in the lobby without observing the minimum distance of 1.5 m is only permitted to persons for whom the general contact restriction does not apply in relation to one another. (Members of your own family or household, members of a second household or groups of up to ten people)

In order to determine contact persons in the event of a subsequently identified COVID-19 case among guests or staff, a guest list must be kept with details of names, telephone numbers, and the period of stay. These are treated in accordance with data protection.

Only guests who are allowed to contact each other – such as members of a household or life partner – may move into a room.

7. What measures are specifically planned for the event area?

Conferences & Celebrations

The obligation to wear a mask must also be complied with here.

The safety distance of 1.5 meters between event participants is maintained; this applies to the event rooms as well as the entrances and exits.

Hand disinfection in the breakout/ conference rooms is available.

No materials such as e.g. Blocks, pens, folders etc. are set on the table. These are available from our employees on request.

Conference drinks are not set on the conference tables and are available on a separate table in the room.

Conference lunches are only offered as a 2- or 3-course menu; The following applies to snack buffets: All meals are served by our employees with face mask and rubber gloves – no self-service.

Coffee breaks: meals are only offered in portions (per person); Coffee breaks “To Go” (packed per person) are also possible.

The conference rooms, coffee machines, doorknobs, tables and chairs as well as the complete conference technology are disinfected after each event.

8. What do we do to protect our staff?

The employees are trained under consideration of their special work and task area, their qualifications and language skills

The employees are informed and trained about/ in the correct handling of face masks and general hygiene regulations.

The staff wear a face mask in rooms where guests are staying as well as outdoors, as long as the distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained.

Employees with acute relevant symptoms are not allowed to work.

The company, Geisel Privathotels, checks that employees comply with the operational protection concept and takes appropriate measures in the event of violations.

Hand disinfection is available throughout the company.
